Odds and Ends as Yet Another Chelsea Player is Added to Juve’s Wish List

•The lying, Juve-lovers at Tuttosport reported this morning that Michael Ballack will be joining Juve on loan this winter. Mmmhmm. This is what Alessio Secco gets for making that trip to London and meeting with Chelsea personnel — it’s only a matter of time before Sheva is in the alleged cards, as well.
•There’s a really, really wonderful article in the Herald-Tribune about Clarence Seedorf (and Robinho).
•According to reports in Italy, QPR have finally chosen their new, Italian manager. Sadly, it’s not Billy Costacurta, Gianluca Vialli or Francesco Guidolin, thought the latter was apparently first-choice for the gig. Instead, they’ve (allegedly) signed Luigi De Canio and, because he was by far the least interesting of the four names consistently mentioned for the job, this time the reports are actually true.
•Though scans revealed his ankle injury is nothing to panic about (and he even returned to light training yesterday), word on the street is that Francesco Totti will miss Roma’s match with Milan on Sunday. Doh!
•Torino youngster Matteo Rubin, who was fantastic when he came on against Juve and had been one of the few promising signs of youth in the team, had surgery this week on his knee to repair ligament damage done during the Azzurrini draw with Greece, and will be out of the rest of the season. God dammit.
•According to his agent, Sporting Lisbon stud Miguel Veloso is being eyed up by both Inter and Juve. The midfielder, who is only 21 and just recently earned a place in the full Portuguese national team, would supposedly cost any eager suitors at least €30 million.
