Oh Happy Day: WAGs Make the Leap to Legit News Topic!
By: Martha | April 9th, 2007
Lest you think it’s only us who are ever-so-slightly WAG obsessed, no less journalistic light that La Gazzetta dello Sport decided to temporarily ignore the upcoming on-field battle between Roma and Man U and instead offered a careful analysis today of how the teams — and their WAGS — match up in the looks department.
Our esteemed colleagues-in-WAG are going further than just idle speculation, however. They’re taking this stuff seriously, and have put up two galleries of photos, allowing us to compare not only four sets of WAGs, but also four sets of actual footballers — Roma’s representatives are pretty boys Totti and Mexes and slightly harder men Wilhelmsson and Doni (hey, I said slightly). And then? We vote on their respective hotnesses, women and men both! (Needless to say, the Roma players and their WAGs are smoking their Man U counterparts.)
I don’t want to influence your voting or anything, so I’ll limit my comments to these:
1)Hot damn, check out Wilhelmsson’s fiancee. I think we’ve found our WAG of this week, then.
2)Who is going to vote against that woman, particularly when she’s competing against a lady by the last name of “Roughead?” I ask you.
So get yourself over to Gazzetta dello Sport and vote! Before you do, though, please abide by their one request: That “you express your preference after to have given an eye to the photographic gallery.” Oh, indeed! This is very scientific, clearly, and they can’t have anyone (Muddia) just rolling in and voting for Ilary Blasi on the assumption she’s the hottest woman on earth, or something. None of that.

I loved the translated article with a date of 9 you open them 2007. Classic. I cannot wait to go and vote (possibly a few times).

They didn’t even use a particularly flattering picture of Ilary and she still smokes all competition. I think you may be on to something regarding Wilhemsson’s girl Martha.

I’m going to vote anyway! Because, hey, why would anyone need more than one eye anyhow!

Apparently they don’t want my eye, because I can’t get the link to work. I can open your link just fine, but then I can’t get into the photos. :-(

Laurie, you need to view the page in original format. That happened to me as well but once in original, you can view and vote.

Hardly surprising considering it is an Italian publication but the photos provided of the ManU WAGs are hardly flattering.

I actually enjoyed the “professional pin-up shots vs. crappy tabloid photos” approach to presenting the competition. Totally, totally unbiased.
