Ooooh, Super Pippo Sweat!

If you’re the sort of person who isn’t totally freaked out by the mere thought of proximity to Pippo Inzaghi’s precious bodily fluids, you’ll want to check out the action currently going on at the official Milan store: They’re auctioning off the jersey he wore in the Champions League Final — It’s got the proper embroidery and is signed (In pink, for some reason. Who even has a pink pen?) and everything! — with the entire winning bid going to benefit the Milan Foundation.

The auction just kicked off today and, as I’m writing this at 830am ET, the top bid is already over €6000 — and it doesn’t close for a week! Damn. Of course, a high price is understandable for the shirt that scored the first goal of the game, right? Why, if you’re rich enough, you can have that shoulder hanging on your wall for the rest of your life!

The current record price for a Milan jersey auction is €17,505, which was paid for the shirt Paolo Maldini wore in his 600th game of club. I know the Champions League win is massive and all, but there’s something wrong with the world if Pippo Inzaghi’s sweat goes for more than Maldini’s. I’m just sayin’.

  PRICE WATCH: 4pm EST: € 6,535

  You’re right about Pippo-perspiration selling for more than Maldini’s sweat being morally wrong. It’s also a sign of the Apocalypse; couple that with Inter winning a scudetto AND Juve going to Serie B, I’d say we’re down one hell of a steep incline.

  Whoever buys the jersey and hangs it on the wall should use really strong nails… That shirt tends to drift offsides. ;)
