Germany is the best country for Christmas: big markets with over 500 little stalls with christmas stuff, wine, beer, other drinks...in Belgium we have some great ones too. And once you get over the taste (after about 3-4), apple schnapps are awesome. And they do have mulled wine, but i'm not really into it. I like my Bardolino on room temperature, not tongue-burning hot. And now i'll quit my drunken madness...
