Piacere…

Ciao, My name is Dylan, and I’ll be taking over blogging duties from Julian. It’s been almost two months since the Serie A Offside was last updated, and I could not bare to watch no one continue the great president that has been set. I will not claim to have the knowledge that others may have, but I have a passion for writing.

I have been following football, and calcio in particular, since before I can remember. I was born in Milan and have played, and still do play, football on the streets with my friends. While rushing down to the local newsagents every morning to buy La Gazza. In terms of writing experience, I have written for soccerlens and forzaitalianfootball, but most of all I run my own Italian football site. Calcistico is almost two months old, but has already fifteen writers. Similar to theoffside it has a correspondents for each club. As well as covering lower leagues and even reserve football.

My style of writing is varied and hopefully entertaining. As well as covering news and matches, I intend to discuss football in Italian society. If you want me to cover something in particular, let me know. I will always try to be neutral, while giving my opinion when necessary, but I”m always open to other views. I’m really excited to start, as I would like you guys have your say in the comments. I’m open to talk over twitter too. I’m @dylan_fahy and @CalcisticoItaly.

I’ll get a proper post up tomorrow.

I’d like to thank theoffside management for this great opportunity.

  • Grazie al cielo! Le mie preghiere sono state ascoltate finalmente! Le cazzate di Julian erano diventate insopportabili...un altra delle sue fesserie e io mi sarei buttato dal ponte piu vicino.

All jokes aside, welcome Dylan. Nice to see this page pick up again. Francesco and Julian were great writers and you seem to know your stuff as well so the Serie A Offside page should return to being one of the best ones on the whole site.

P.S: The Como 2002-2003 jerseys were pretty sweet, always liked the white one.

Le nostre opinioni su Julian sono molto diversi, ma grazie per il benvenuto!

My aim is to make the Italy Offside the best page once again.

Thanks everyone for your kind words....Julian will always be a hard act to follow as he has set a high standard. Heckling is very much welcomed! I'll try to get the polls going soon too.

welcome dylan. what i want is interactive polls like whos gonna win serie a, whos gonna be the goalscorer, whos gonna get the CL places, whos gonna get relegated etc.. thank you in advance.

  • Benvenuto!

  • KJ

Welcome aboard. Don't thank the offside management though. They need you to make them money.

  • Good luck and welcome! Won't be too hard to follow up the last guy, he was pretty crappy.

  • Seriously, he was a hack. Now he writes for that stupid tabloid Goal dot com. Although I've heard it's gaining some credibility, not sure if there's a connection...

Anyway, welcome Dylan. I look forward to heckling you as much as Julian. ;)
