Ronaldo to Flamengo?
By: Martha | December 26th, 2007
I’m not actually back yet, but since it’s starting to look like an exodus of lumpy Brazilians is sweeping Milan, I figured I should make some time for a post. Just a few days after Inter and Sao Paolo agreed a loan deal for Adriano, the international press is all aflutter over the news that Flamengo have been authorized to talk to Ronaldo about a move to Rio. Though Milan haven’t released a statement about the story, Flamengo president Kleber Leite has told the press that Milan have given him permission to begin talks and that they’re already underway, albeit seemingly in a fairly superficial way.
Ronaldo has been back in Brazil for a while, having returned before the derby to seek medical advice from Jose Luiz Runco, the national team’s doctor. And, while he’s not actually offered any thoughts on what’s wrong with the striker, Runco’s statement that he has “a good opinion of Ronaldo,” and thinks “he needs to play,” is being seized upon by Flamengo as a sign that the portly one is healthy and ripe for a revival.
Leite admits, though, that no financial issues have been discussed, either with Milan or Ronaldo, so things are evidently still in the very early stages. In the meantime, Ronaldo is entertaining himself by partying with Adriano, whose recovery has been so impressive he’s apparently drinking again to celebrate. Fantastic.

well the acmilan website has an “official announcement” denying any talk about giving flamengo permission to talk to ronaldo… you know because he is going to really tear it up in the second half of the season…
