The Continuing Adventures of Antonio Cassano and His Brain

By: Martha | December 14th, 2007

Oh, how I wish this was maroon.Antonio Cassano misses Roma. So much. Despite fighting with pretty much every manager the club had during his time there, he wishes he’d never left, and describes his departure as “a big mistake.” Though, being Antonio Cassano, he can’t leave it at that and just say something nice, so he his more recent declaration of love ended with this: “The club also were partly responsible as they promised me things and then took them away.” Fuckers.

Problems with the liars at the club (and in the press) aside, Cassano is now more in love with The Great Totti than ever, and can’t wait to see him and hug him and wish him merry Christmas and tell him how great his family is and … Hey, Antonio? Rosella doesn’t want you back, alright? You can stop with the ass-kissing already, jeez.

Away from his fruitless declarations of Roma-love, Cassano had time for a moment of self-examination in which, just days after talking about how hilarious he finds his own infantile antics, he came to a shocking conclusion: “I need to improve mentally, otherwise I’m a disaster.” Gee, ya think?

    What a waste of talent.

Honestly. I’m sure many would give their left testicle to have his talent. To throw it away like that is tantamount to mocking the Gods.

Rot at Sampdoria Antonio. You deserve nothing less.

Martha, you and I are on the same Cassano page.

It seems, however, that there are still people who maintain that 1) he’s just going to bust loose one day and become the greatest player in Italy… and/or 2) regardless of how much drama he causes at the club level, none of it matters when considering him for the Azzurri… because he puts on the blue shirt and suddenly becomes mild-mannered… or something.

For those who care about details by the way, that Cassano interview was released on the Vialli and Rossi TV program in Italy, and republished on the paper version of Gazzetta dello Sport.
