Serie A 2009/2010 Schedule released

By: Francesco | July 29th, 2009

Today the schedule was released for the 2009/2010 season. Lega Calcio finally decided to do the schedule EPL-style, with no seeding for teams, which meant you could have big games on the first day of the season. The first day of the season which starts the weekend of August 22 and 23 has two very interesting encounters, with Genoa-Roma and Palermo-Napoli. The second day of the season (August 29 and 30) provides even more entertainment, with the Milan-Inter derby quickly coming into play, as well as Roma-Juventus. The first two days of the season will be played all at night to deal with the Italian summer heat. The last day of the season (May 16) has a big encounter, with Juventus-Milan. Some other notables: Lazio-Juventus on the 3rd day of the season, Roma-Fiorentina on the 4th day (what a start for Roma), Juventus-Fiorentina and Milan-Roma on the 8th day. The Sampdoria-Genoa derby will be played on the 14th day and the 15th day is very entertaining, with Roma-Lazio and Juventus-Inter on the program. Full schedule after the jump.

Woohoo! I am actually pretty happy about having the Milan derby on the second game day. I feel much more prepared this season over last.

    Parma-Inter on the 3rd day.
They schedule masters are throwing us to the wolves.
Hopefully we can gain some confidence with wins over Udine and Catania.

If they are throwing Parma to the wolves, how do you think Galletti fans feel? Ownership saga, crap transfer season thus far, and they’ve got Inter day 1….in Milan!

Roma was going to have issues no matter the order of their schedule.

Never understood the tough schedule claim. Every team plays every other team twice. Once at home and once away. I love Serie A’s schedule. It’s a true round robin. The ritorno in the same order as the andata. Every team has a tough stretch… it’s called a season!

Paolo, people have to bitch about something and that goes especially for supporters of certain clubs.

just to be clear i dont give a crap about roma, in fact i probably like them least of any team in serie a…but they could end up with 3 points out of the first 5 weeks if theyre not careful. not a fun start

Hi, I am going to be in Rome from 23rd Sept to 27th and would love to see a game out there. Lazio are playing at home twice whilst I am there. How likely are the dates for these matches to change?

    Cheers.

Not likely, but the day/time won’t be decided until a few weeks early, London.
