Serie A Weekend Round-up: Giornata 10
By: Francesco | November 3rd, 2008
Wow can you believe we’re already at Giornata 10? I feel like Serie A was just starting just yesterday. The highlight of the weekend was undoubtedly Milan-Napoli. Napoli have been the surprise of the campaign so far, led by young starlets Ezequiel Lavezzi, Marek Hamsik, and Fabiano Santacroce, and playing excellent, attractive football. Milan are finally concentrating on the Scudetto and have come back to life the past few weeks after starting off the campaign with 2 losses. Napoli were top spot and Milan were looking to overtake them. After a hard fought game, Milan eventually broke the deadlock after a Ronaldinho free-kick was deviated into the net by Napoli striker German Denis (see picture on left). It was a tough loss for Napoli, but the Partenopei have to be very proud of the way they played, especially since they were in 10 men for most of the second half. Full Serie A results after the jump.

COACHING CHANGES
After Bologna’s 5-1 loss to Cagliari this Sunday, the Rossoblu’ have decided to relieve Daniele Arrigoniof his duties. Bologna have hired former Lazio and Inter defender Sinisa Mihajlovic as his replacement. Mihajlovic was Mancini’s assistant at Inter and this is his first head coaching position. And who does Mihajlovic, a long time idol to Lazio fans, make his coaching debut against? None other than hated rivals Roma. He has the chance to make their crisis even deeper. You can’t make this stuff up.

You know, it sure looked to me like that goal in the Milan-Napoli game was a Napoli own goal. The ball did come off of Denis’s head, didn’t it?
