FRANCESCO’S SERIE A GOALS OF THE WEEK
Edgar Barreto vs. Bologna – the Paraguayan midfielder is known for scoring long range goals like this and he adds another one to his collection with this one.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic vs. Lazio – Another Ibra beauty. Takes on the Lazio defense and powers one past Muslera.
Fabrizio Miccoli vs. Cagliari – Awesome free kick from Miccoli, who hits the ball with the outside of his boot and makes it unstoppable for Marchetti.
Houssain Kharja vs. Napoli – Kharja takes the ball from his own half and dribbles all the way to the Napoli box and unleashes a great effort.
QUESTION OF THE DAY – DID VARGAS MEAN IT?
There was some discussion yesterday about this goal. Vargas scores but before he finishes he brings the ball past Sereni with a touch. Did he mean to make that dribble, or did he try to shoot and messed up and got lucky it got back to him? Some analysts say he meant it, others say he got lucky.

Miccoli = Serie A player of the week

When Miccoli is on he is definitely one of the best Italian players around. But that when he is on.
Posted from
United States

And motivated.
What has happened to Juventus?
We´re shit. That´s what happened.
I do love seeing a loyaless asshole so pissed off by his own fans he tells them to shut up.
Posted from
Spain

-

Me too.
On a completely different note, I like to watch Ibra score for us.

United States

Enjoy him while he lasts.

I’ll enjoy him until either his contract runs out or we sell his card.
Just like you did.
The only difference is, I won’t have the bad feeling you have over his eventual leaving, because I don’t live in the “should’ve” world.
But I do dislike disloyal assholes like Nedved.

Funny that you say that, for someone who “grew” up an Inter fan as he liked to say, you’d expect a bit more.

“Funny that you say that, for someone who “grew” up an Inter fan as he liked to say, you’d expect a bit more.”
I have no idea what this is supposed to mean.

When Ibra signed for Inter he talked up his life-long fandom for Inter. And 3 years later, is close to walking out because he’s bored or something.

Alessio, football is a job not a religion. If Ibra would like to work for someone else, I may be disappointed, but I dont take it personally. People move on, it happens.
And I think what he said was that Inter was the Italian team he followed. He and his friends picked a team from each European country – it is not like Inter was the only team he liked.
Wow, but you sure hold a grudge. Why do you care what Ibra wants to do with his career?

Johonna, what would you think of Ibra if he joined Milan next season, and if Moratti refused to sell he’d take inter to court.

“When Ibra signed for Inter he talked up his life-long fandom for Inter. And 3 years later, is close to walking out because he’s bored or something.”
I was going to say what Johonna said. He’s a player, not a messiah.
I have seen quality players come and go from Inter before. Flagship players like Altobelli, Berti, Bergomi, Brehme, Zenga and Baresi.
We survived all of them leaving. Just like we will survive Ibra leaving. This is a business. Whatever he decides to do it’s not an affront to me, he’s just doing whatever is best for him, his family and his career – hopefully in that order. I can relate to this.
If he wants to go to Juve, Milan, Roma, Real, whatever, who cares? As long as we get comparable compensation and a serviceable replacement the shirt will continue.

Sorry, I hit submit before I was ready to, that should read:
As long as we get comparable compensation and a serviceable replacement **I’ll be happy**. ***Regardless, with or without him*** the shirt will continue.

You put yourself before your family? That doesn’t come as a surprise to me.

We survived all of them leaving. Just like we will survive Ibra leaving. This is a business.
Sounds awfully EPL-ish, no thanks.

“You put yourself before your family? That doesn’t come as a surprise to me.”
If each individual in my family isn’t fulfilled, then they aren’t happy and then we have a problem. Problems stem from the needs (physical and psychological) of one member of the family not being met.
It doesn’t surprise me that you don’t understand this. On many different levels…
Financial/employment/wealth security is second from the bottom – that is, it’s at the base – of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.
Think of it this way, when shit happens and the mask comes down on a plane, you use it on yourself first. Then you look to help others. You are of no use to anyone if you can’t make it yourself.

Vargas got pretty lucky on that one, def off balance and completely missed the roll he was attempting.

Johonna, what would you think of Ibra if he joined Milan next season, and if Moratti refused to sell he’d take inter to court.
Adam, as I said, I would be disappointed, but I would not take it personally. I dont hate Pirlo or Ronaldo for going to Milan, or Canavarro for going to Juve. They did what they had to do for their careers and to be happy. I am sorry it didn’t work out for them at Inter, but I am not losing any sleep over it.
Ibra will either stay or he will go. If he stays, then I will support him whole-heatedly. If he goes, I will love him from afar and be a bit wistful at what might have been, but I will get on with my life and Inter will get on with wining another scudetto. We will survive (cue the donna summers)

“Sounds awfully EPL-ish, no thanks.”
You know what I read the other day? I read that an “EPL team” sold that player called Zidane for a record amount of money, bought some new players and the fans were just fine with it.
Posted from
United States

-

Completely missing the point. Zidane was a great player, but he was never a bandiera.
Posted from
Spain

-

No, I got the point.
Your point was that Juve was all that is good and fluffy and sugary. Inter are bad and “epl-ish” and greedy.
That’s a load of hooey. Both of these clubs are in it to win it. Dedicated players who aren’t good enough don’t stay – they get sold. No sentimentality included.
Posted from
United States

-

Sigh…
It was a criticism of Zlatan, not Inter.
Posted from
Spain

-

Zlatan isn’t a “flag” of the club either. That’s why he isn’t captain, or vice-captain.
If he leaves it will be exactly like Zidane leaving Juve. Great player, but the club only sells him for a Brinks truck full of change.
The only difference between the two are the teams that hey play for. That’s the basis for your “criticism”.
Posted from
United States

-

I think the fans would like Zlatan to be a bandiera, but I dont think he wants to be that for the club.
Alessio, I understand what you are saying about Ibra, but I guess I just dont think that it is as much of a shortcoming as you do.
