Serie A Weekend Round-up: Giornata 36
By: Francesco | May 18th, 2009
We’ve expected it for most of the year, but this weekend Inter were officially crowned Campioni D’Italia for the 17th time (now they are level with Milan for all-time Scudetto wins, but both clubs are still 10 behind Juventus). For those that don’t understand the banner. “Il Biscione” (the snake) is the traditional symbol of Inter, and it says “Il Biscione is the champion again”. Full results after the jump.

“(the snake) is the traditional symbol of Inter”
The snake (and the crowned eagle) is the traditional emblem of the House of the Duchy of Milan.
Inter took it as their own symbol as Milan took the Cross of St. George.

Nnahoj, I dont think you know Italian history very well. There was not united into (basically) the country we know today until about 1870.
Oh, and Turin was, at one time, the capital of the Duchy of Savoy (before it became part of the Kingdom of Sardinia.

“Turin= Kings and Capital of Italia…remains so today.”
Actually, it didn’t remain so much after it started. The Royal Capital changed several times – including to Florence and ultimately to Roma.
