Cross post from my response on the Milan blog:

“Avia, the fight between Serie A and the rest of the professional clubs in Italy has been going on for years, with most of it focussing on television revenue (recall that Serie B did not have a tv contract last season).

I take the latest skirmish as typical of negotiating tactics here, and imagine that a compromise will be reached eventually.”

The likely outcome is for Serie B to become even more marginalised than it is now. Their best chance at getting a real seat at the table was when teams like Juve, Napoli, Genoa, Bologna (and yes, the Viola) were in B; that simply isn’t true anymore and no one thinks it is going to happen on the same scale again in the near future.

Cagliari played an AWESOME game with great pace, and really had Milan running for the hills. In all honesty Cagliari should have taken 3 points from that match.
Cagliari really impressed me on Sunday.
