Sir Alex Does a 180° on Rossi

By: Martha | July 25th, 2007

Scottish scum says YAY!Remember last week, when Sir Alex Ferguson talked about how hard it would be for Alan Smith and Giuseppe Rossi to get games with Manchester United and essentially acknowledge that the latter, at least, was likely to be sold? Well, never mind — forget everything he said.

In a widely publicized interview today, Ferguson completely changed his tune, acting as if every fool knows Rossi will be staying with Man U this season. Said Sir Alex, “Giuseppe scored nine goals in 16 matches for Parma and the consensus is that he kept them up … We got all the videos of the [player] and watched what [he] did in training. [He] will certainly come back.” Ah. Ok, then. In the same breath, meanwhile, Ferguson admitted Rossi might not actually play, but insisted that simply by training with the Man U squad — and under his watchful eye (No one is better than Sir Alex, just ask him.) — young Giuseppe will improve more than he could out on another loan.

This is going to be awfully disappointing to the handful of teams in Italy supposed to be chasing Rossi — primary among them Parma and Fiorentina — but might make the player himself happy, if his statements this summer about want to make an impact back in Manchester are to be believed. That said, given the pattern here, it also might be totally contradicted by something Sir Alex says next week, so who knows what the hell is going to happen.

Nick Geber (from World Soccer Daily) used to refer to this tosspot as Nosugref Xela Ris with a devil sounding voice. Now I know why. God what a pompous dickhead.

I don’t know how you’d pronounce that, but it’s brilliant. And I don’t think there’s anyone in football I hate more than Xela Ris — his arrogance is off the charts.

its because fifa decided they didnt have the balls to rule on the tevez saga.. and since now its going to the sporting courts, it could take 6 months to solve… since they cant get tevez, they are gonna need to keep rossi, hence the turnaround…
