The Coppa Finale Is Set

Inter now join Palermo in battling it out in the final of the Coppa Italia on ay 29th at the Stadio Olimpico. Inter progressed through the semis after tying Roma 1-1 at home, having already won the away leg 1-0.

For Inter, this will be a very routine thing. The side have been in six Coppa Italia finals in the last seven years. Nevertheless, it stands as Leonardo’s side’s only chance of silverware this season and they’ll surely want to take home the trophy.

For Palermo, however, this is even bigger. The Rosanero have not been in the final since 1979 (!)- which means merely reaching that stage at this point has bettered the last 32 years of performances from the team in the competition.

Suspended for that match will be Cesare Bovo and Armin Bacinovic for Palermo and Douglas Maicon for Inter.

I think Inter will come out strong for this one, especially given that this is their only opportunity of winning any silverware this season.

Hey, it may not be much, but the Club World Cup came with a snappy patch and the Supercup was a way to start the season out with a bang. Too bad everyone was so clearly hung over for the UEFA super cup. Oh well, next time.

but still, how the mighty have fallen eh? you guys better win the copa at least to gain back a smitten of credibility that made inter so amazing last year.

if barca win another CL, it'll completely overshadow inter's achievements (has it already outside of milan?) and that won't be good for italian football either.

you guys need to invest in some new, young, hungry players. starting to look a little like post-2007 retirement home milan.
