The Return of Bobo!
By: Martha | April 17th, 2007
After what has felt like about 30 years without him, word on the street is that Christian Vieri will make his return to Italian football when Atalanta face off against Empoli tomorrow. (And there was much rejoicing.)
You may or may not recall the transfer drama last summer, when an injured Vieri left Monaco for Sampdoria. A few months later, without even kicking a ball, he bailed on Samp and heroically offered himself to the relegated Juve. Unfortunately for Vieri, however, the Turin club didn’t actually want him. (You’d think he would have checked on that before ending things with Samp, huh?) So now Bobo’s with Atalanta, where he’s earning the league minimum with an alleged special little bonus of €100,000 for every ball he puts in the back of the net.
Since signing that deal, Vieri’s not spent a lot of time on the pitch. Instead, he went to Colorado before Christmas to have his knee operated on by that one Denver surgeon who seems to be the only man on earth footballers trust to cut their joints. Afterwards, he came back to Italy and sat around healing for a long time. (Oh, and he got robbed.) He has, however, been back in training for about the past month, and it sounds like he’ll be on the bench for tomorrow’s game — could it be he’ll make an appearance? Please?
Man. I think this is the first time I’ve ever actively wished Atalanta were on TV …

Martha, please. Is this the best photo you can come up with? Don’t you know that women the world over are counting on you? And probably some men, too.

I’ve used up all the porny ones! You know I hate to repeat photos! (But if he scores this weekend? Totally back to the naked.)
