The WTF Moment of the Day: Figo Rejected by Red Bulls?!

Figo is briefly Mexican. Yes, you read that right: Apparently New York Red Bulls manager (and deeply annoying egomaniac) Bruce Arena has told the press he’s not interested in signing Luis Figo because — get this — he doesn’t “fit in” to what Arena is planning to do with the team next season. Really, Bruce? And is that because your plans include more epic sucking? Because I’m pretty sure that’s the only excuse a 9-11-12 team has for not wanting to sign someone as good as Figo. Also, Arena seems to fully intended to continue not drawing fans in a city that once routinely sold 70,000 tickets per game to witness the insane glory that was the NY Cosmos.

I mean, seriously — and I’m not just saying this because I want Figo nearby (really, I’m not). Could Arena be more arrogant? Shut up, put your ego aside, and sign a good goddamn player. Cocksucker. (Can you say “cocksucker” on the internet?)

The system regularly sends my stuff to "Awaiting Moderation" limbo. Even on my own page. And even when I'm not discussing giant inflatable phalluses. I think the system has an anti-France bias.

Glad you agree with me about my Figo photo. That one struck me as a gay photographer's idea of What Women Want.

Yours, on the other hand? Well, I'm kind of speechless. That particular gay photographer got it right. Or was female. (And not gay.)

HA! Laurie, you'll be pleased to know your comment was sent to spam. To my great shame, I've seen that photo many times and always get distracted by those dreadful pants. I mean, honestly -- SURELY he could say, "I'm fine with holding my genitalia on camera, but I'd rather do it through some jeans. Or, really, anything that's not velvet." Plus, I don't think anything can ever surpass the ... power of this photo.

I don't think you have to worry about censorship on a site that regularly gives links to footballer's sex tapes and photos of giant inflatable phalluses.

The Figo news is very sad news indeed.
