Toni to World: Liars! Stop Talking About Me!

As my grandmother would have said, this is rich: The same guy who spent all last summer ranting about how much he wanted to leave Fiorentina is now sternly wagging his finger at the press for reporting rumored links between him and another club. Toni swears up and down that he’s never met with anyone from Juve, and would be quite content to re-sign with the Viola, so everyone needs to shut up and “stop talking about my future.” (He really said that. Let’s hope he stomped his foot, too.) The funny thing is that he blames last summer’s constant barge of rumors and links with Inter on a tendency to be “too honest” — it’s part of his character, don’t you know.
Let me get this straight, Luca. Before, when there were all those press reports of your desire to leave, those came from your own desire for trust. But the rumors now are all lies, and have nothing to do with your honesty? So, wait. Are you lying now? Hmm? [Imagine bright, interrogation-style light shining in Toni's face.] Yes, we’ve seen through your clever smokescreen, my friend. We know you’re secretly dining with Juve officials. And Nedved. And Camo. Don’t lie.

*grin* I don’t find him particularly attractive myself, but he does have a rather endearing puppy-like enthusiasm for pretty much everything, hence the ‘adorkable’ epithet!
