Vieira Keeps Banging That “It’s Not Fair!” Drum

By: Martha | May 3rd, 2007

Can you hear me complaining?Almost exactly a month ago, Patrick Vieira returned from injury and immediately commenced bellyaching about Milan’s Champions League presence, insisting Calciopoli should have kept them out of the tournament entirely (which was, in fact, the original verdict — gotta love those trusty Italian appeals). And, it would appear, the passage of time was not enough to heal the Frenchman’s wounds because he’s at it again today, simultaneously congratulating Milan for advancing while also complaining yet again about the cruel injustice of the world.

I gotta say his whining would be easier to take had Inter not been knocked out several rounds ago — it’s hard not to smell sour grapes on Vieira’s breath as he continues to unleash his weird righteous indignation. I mean, he could be right, but the time for complaining about Milan being admitted to Champions League was last summer, when the decision was made, not when they’ve made the final and your team was dumped out in the first knockout round.

And, speaking of Vieira: He wants to end his career in Italy. Just so you know.

Seeing him in the Ol’ Bag’s shirt in that photo just made me think of something. His constant bickering has nothing to do with him being jealous that Inter is out and Milan are going to the final. I think he is harping because he is pissed off that Milan were allowed in and Juve weren’t, forcing him to leave Juve to play with a Champions League/Top Flight side. I think he is professing his love and allegiance to Juve. Screw him…. We’ll keep Ibra any day over him!! Anyhow just a thought with no real substance behind it. But Marth you’re right. The time to complain has come & gone. Let it go.
