Vieira Returns to Inter Camp, Immediately Starts to Whine
By: Martha | April 3rd, 2007
Patrick Vieira, who has been in France for several weeks rehabbing his injured knee, came back to Milan today and engaged in both some light training and some heavy complaining in the press — he clearly stored up a lot of bitterness during those boring, lonely days away from football.
Among other things, the Frenchman is irritated that, despite the condemnations of Calciopoli, Milan were allowed (on appeal, no less) into the Champions League, let alone finding themselves still competing in the last eight of the tournament. According to Vieira — who, you may recall, helped Juve win the title which was stripped from them last summer, and left the club after its demotion into Serie B — Milan’s offenses were such that they should have been kept out of Champions League, and should now be sitting at home like Inter, watching it on TV.
In case you were wondering, by the way, Vieira wants us to know that Inter were better than Valencia but went out in the last round because a)the great Vieira wasn’t there (yes, he really said this), and b)they “were under too much pressure.” Mm hmm. Why don’t you talk to Milan’s Carlo “Every Manager on Earth Has Been Rumored to be Taking My Place” Ancelotti about pressure?
[Why am I not writing about the Milan-Bayern game in this space? It's because I am in a meeting RIGHT NOW and only got to watch the first freaking half. Bitter? Me? Naw.]

God that second half was dreadful, wasn’t it? NOT encouraging going forward, that’s for damn sure.
