WAG of the Week: Elena Barolo (and Friend)

According to Calcio Italia, Elena was dating Turino’s Roberto Stellone as of last December, and as far as I’m concerned that’s enough to get her a WAG of the Week spot. (And, now that you’ve seen the above photo, I’m guessing you’ll agree.)
Though the magazine describes her as a model, she seems to be more a showgirl/TV host, from what I can dig up. No stereotypical empty-headed blonde (yes, that’s her on the right), she started out at university, pursuing some sort of business degree. Sick of all that number nonsense, though, she left before getting her degree and instead enrolled at the European Fashion Institute to chase her dream of being a nude model designer.
Inevitably, wor Elena took a detour from the fashion design track into, yes, nude modeling. Denied a Max calendar appearance when she lost a public vote (Fools!), she turned around and entered and won a second “Which woman would you most like to see nude?” election, teaming up with the spectacularly sexy Giorgia Palmas* for a Veline calendar — I think the above is from that shoot — and showed the fools at Max what they were missing.
Though I just can’t imagine why, the public seemed to like seeing those two together, which resulted in them joining forces on TV as … some sort of creepy fly girls, on a show called — I kid you not — Strip the News. Oddly for a show with a such a title, it seems to feature no stripping and a lot of cheesy dancing. I’m disturbed on about 10 different levels by those videos — I mean, they’re not even hot, are they? What the hell is that about?
Anyway, apart from dating a footballer, I’m not sure what she’s doing now. She has, at least, moved on from Strip the News. So there is that.
*Who isn’t even a WAG. Bonus! If anyone can dig up ties between her and a footballer, though, I’m all about putting her in the club. And seriously, it’s worth it. So do some digging!

WOW! WOW! We need more dual shots. Martha, you have outdone yourself once again. Incidentally, I think I saw something about her in the print version of Football Italia. Was she Miss Teen Italy or something?

Gotta love those weird european variety shows. I think that’s what happens when you need to fill up air time on a low budget.

Giorgia Palmas is incredible!!! I play in a co-ed under 30 league here in Texas, but I’d move to Italy, join a local church side, and marry her if it would get Giorgia her own WAG of the Week feture.

Lazy E, that’s a brave, selfless offer and your willingness to help is much appreciate. The only problem is that, checking the WAG Guidebook, I see that the boyfriend must be in Serie B or above. What do you think — could you get on the Bari bench?
