WAG of the Week: Ilary Blasi (Take Two)
By: Martha | April 12th, 2007
Faithful readers will perhaps recall Ilary Blasi as the very first WAG of the Week, way back before we even knew there was a such a thing. (Oh, ye olden days of January.) Now that the feature is established and regular, I figured the least we could do was bring her back and give her an official post and headline of her very own.
As you no doubt know, the lovely Ms. Blasi is married to Franceso Totti, and she probably still loves him just the same even though he and his Roma teammates were humiliated by Man U this week. Almost the same, anyway. Like all of her WAG friends, she’s a model and showgirl (A job title we really need to bring back in the US. It sounds so much more exciting than “Hot chick on TV.”) and has been in front of the camera since the age of three, when she first appeared in a television advertisement. And the rest, as they say, is history.
In addition to her hosting work on RAI, it’s a little-known fact that Ilary ranked sixth last summer on Forbes Magazine’s list of footballer’s wives, just ahead of Helen Swedin and behind Kristen Pazik, among others. (Of course, since the skanky, skeletal Victoria Beckham topped the Forbes list, I don’t think we can put too much faith in their taste.)
Non-WAG note: I’m about to get on a plane and will be away until Monday evening (Yes, I’m missing the Inter-Palermo match. I know.), so posting will be virtually non-existent over the weekend, and light at best tomorrow and Monday. If I don’t reappear tomorrow, I hope you all have great weekends — and, please, keep an eye on Figo for me.

WOW!! Super Gorgeous. 2nd best WAG ever. I can’t remember the name of the 1st best, in my opinion of course :) but it was the brunette that had accompanying videos and a website. She was on the show Contro Campo sporting Boys S.A.N. jacket.

My apologies to Forbes, but any WAGs list in which Cheryl Tweedy outranks Ilary Blasi is crap.

Lisa, agreed. Thanks again Martha for hooking us up with the best of the best.

And Forbes couldn’t take the time to spell check his name. They called him Totto in the paragraph. Obviously following this posting every week, I am shocked no other Italian footballer’s WAG made it.
