Welcome to YouTube Tuesday!

By: Martha | December 26th, 2006

I have no idea if I’ll ever be organized enough to make this an actual, reoccurring feature, but since it’s a slow, holiday week, let’s just pretend. Today’s special YouTube guest is Lazio icon Paolo di Canio who is still plying his trade in Rome, albeit it in the lower reaches of Italian football. Fascists salutes, shoving of officials and political issues aside, the man’s skill level is completely outrageous. Observe the utter sickness of this goal:

I mean … my LORD. The precision required to execute something like that is utterly mind-blowing. And, if you need some less pure Di Canio, YouTube is FULL of fan videos, most of which include this sick goal against Chelsea, and that famous “Oh my god the goalkeeper is dead!” catch he made in the penalty box. And, if you’re into Di Canio’s off-field appeal, there’s always this ad to watch. And rewatch. You know, if that’s your sort of thing. *Cough.*

It’d been more impressive if his leg snapped as he hit it.

But that was pretty cool. Sorta like the video of Tiger hackeysacking a golf ball with a club before hitting it like a baseball.
