While You Were Sleeping: Developments in Milan

•Figo is an Arab: After what seemed like months of speculation, highlighted by total silence on the player’s part and a Figo-free unveiling in Dubai, Luis Figo has finally signed a contract with Al Ittihad. (Insert massive sigh of relief that it’s all over here.) The deal is for 18 months and, happily, doesn’t start until summer, so we’ll get to see Figo win his first on-pitch Scudetto before he runs off to sleep on a bed made of money.
•Adriano is a scoring machine: In a 6-1 thrashing of the Bahrain national team over the weekend, Adriano scored Inter’s first two goals (the second on a pretty chip, if you can believe that) and is now officially unstoppable and sorry for sucking. And yes, Figo assisted on both the goals. Thanks for asking.
•Milan are unbeatable: In the Trofeo Berlusconi exhibition match — postponed from the summer because of that whole Calciopoli thing — Milan defeated Juve 3-2, continuing their bizarre new trend of actually scoring goals. If they can bring this newfound ability into the second half, things could be very interesting indeed at the top of the table, particularly for Palermo and Catania, two small teams clinging to Champions League spots.
