Zebina Goes Crawling Back to Juve
By: Martha | June 6th, 2007
You may not remember the shocking event, but back in December, Juve’s Jonathan Zebina had a small meltdown which saw him exploding in the media about, among other things, his anger at the club for refusing to let him during the Summer of Relegation. In addition, he was upset with the team’s fans for the way they treated him when he missed a match with a possibly dubious injury; things got so bad over the winter that he was even rumored to be heading to Milan when the season ended, despite having two years left on his contract.
Now, though, he’s all about Juve, so much so that he’s signed an extension that will keep him in Turin through 2011 (at which point he’ll be 68, I mean 32). Though Zebina reportedly had problems with the dear, departed Didier Deschamps, you’d think it would take a lot more than a change on the bench to make the guy stop hating a club and everything it stands for and start saying things like “I am honoured to have extended my contract with Juve … To wear the Bianconeri jersey for another four years is a great achievement.” Wow, such genuine loyalty — nearly brings a tear to the eye. (He must not have been able to get anyone else to pay him what Juve offered, huh?)
Claudio Ranieri, meanwhile, is editing together an inspirational DVD of Zebina’s press conference and Fed Ex-ing it off to Gig Buffon’s vacation home as we speak.

I guess no one cares about Zebina? He’s a good hugger though, you can tell from the pic.
