Nedved Was Just Kidding About That Whole Retirement Thing
By: Martha | January 9th, 2007
So, after all of his whining about Juve getting screwed, and how his life is now so hard and so unjust that he may have no choice but to quit football, Pavel Nedved has turned around and pledged his future to Juventus, through the end of his contract in 2008. No longer quitting in a huff, he’s going to end his career heroically, in a black and white shirt. Well, hell. Where’s the fun in that? And Pavel, what happened to the righteous indignation?
Apparently he realized he was being a tool, so all the complaining has been replaced with utter, poorly translated devotion:
The Juve is a glorious society and deserves to return in series To, the society and all those that love the Juve will make of all in order reinforcing this square. I have given marks them clearly when I have decided to remain to Turin this summer, I felt myself in debit with this society and my objective is that one to dress the bianconera mesh until the term of contracted mine in 2008.
It’s hard to pick it out, but I swear to you there’s love in there. Lots and lots of love. Though of course, while he was talking like a martyr, he surely was thinking “Well, 2008 or the next time a referee has the nerve to punish me for something, at which time I will threaten to bail again. Or at least cry a lot.”
