Whoa, Check it Out: A Rumor That Was Actually True!
By: Martha | December 14th, 2006
About two weeks ago, we mentioned Juve’s rumored love for the gawkiest scoring machine this side of Peter Crouch, AKA Miroslav Klose. And, what do you know — no one has turned up to sternly deny the reports, or insist that the player loves Bremen longtime. In fact, Klose’s recent statements to the press stop just a few steps short of standing up and screaming “TAKE ME, DIDIER DESCHAMPS!” I mean, not only is he not mentioning the other interested clubs — allegedly including Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Chelsea — but he’s also bending over backwards to make it clear he doesn’t care about playing in Europe next year. I that doesn’t mean he wants to leave Bremen? I don’t know what does. When was the last time you heard a major transfer target NOT say that his destination had to have a place in Europe for the upcoming year? But Klose, right after he talked sincerely (cough) about his focus on the Bundesliga and plans to meet with Bremen about extending his contract, actually said “What really matters is the club’s project for the future, the important thing is for Juve to immediately return to Serie A.” Wow.
That said, however, while the people in Turin are preparing a locker for Klose, Bremen authorities are insisting they’ve not received an offer from anyone, and are looking forward to the upcoming contract talks. Which, one guesses, will yield nothing more than vague reports of “progress,” and a desire to “concentrate on my football” until summer, at which point all hell will break lose.

And now for a rumor that is NOT TRUE (thank god)
During an interview between Silvio Berlusconi and Ricky Kakà last night at the Christmas party Ricky said he will be staying in Milan! This news certainly makes my Christmas a merry one… and hopefully this will put those awful rumors to rest

Ashley, I’ve got a post on that in the queue, actually — it’ll go live laster this afternoon. In short, though: I am an evil, cynical person who don’t think that they were necessarily doing any more than saying pretty things.
