Dubious WAG of the Week: Martina Stella

Ms. Martina Stella was in the Italian gossip press this week, supposedly captured in a vaguely intimate moment with none other than the very married Adrian Mutu. (Quel scandal!) As a fervent Mutu supporter, I obviously have a contractual obligation to believe him when he says that they are old friends, and that “You can not write these things to a married man with three children.” Unshakable personal trust aside, however, she’s now officially a Dubious WAG, whether Mutu likes it or not.

Stella seems to be an actual, legit actress (as opposed to, you know, a showgirl who takes her boobs to a movie or two just for kicks) in Italy, on both stage and in the movies, including a bit part in the not-Italian Ocean’s 12. In addition, she’s also a model, though it appears it’s called “spokesperson” when you’re a Serious Actress. All that, and still only 24 — why, she’s got years and years left to build up her WAG resume.

  Mutu is supposed to be having a Romanian camera crew track his every move for some kind of cross between a reality show and Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, and one would have thought that they might have had some inkling if he was playing away.

  Stella first came to the attention of the football watching public as arm candy for Lapo Elkan, the Agnelli grandson, international playboy and media darling Juve supporter who ran into a spot of bother two years ago with a Brazilian transexual and an industrial quantity of cocaine, ending up in the same hospital that Pessotto was taken to after his unfortunate episode.

  Lapo is back in circulation now (and cleaner), but my guess is that this an attempt by Stella and her “people” to get her back into the limelight.

  Ursus that’s show’s definitely happening, it’s a huge payday for him (hopefully that will offside the (relatively) tiny Fiorentina salary) — I imagine it consists of training, and a lot of sitting around the house ironing. The ratings will be HUGE.

  And thanks for the background — a transexual AND a giant pile of cocaine? Cripes.
