(Faux) WAG of the Week: Ana Ivanovic

This particular WAG might look familiar to those of you who watch sports other than football from time to time: That would be because she’s Ana Ivanovic, AKA the fourth-best (according to the ATP, anyway) women’s tennis player in the world. She’s also not, strictly, a WAG. She is, however, a woman a footballer wishes was his WAG, which ought to be enough. Right?

Because it turns out that 20-year-old, confused-looking-but-very-good Fiorentina midfielder Zdravko Kuzmanovic has a bit of a thing for Ms. Ivanovic. Instead of making the effort to track down her phone number or, you know, sending her flowers or something, he did that thing celebrities do, where they tell the tabloids they like want to date someone, thus publically pressuring the object of their affection into a date. Sadly for poor Zdravko, though, Ana stood firm and totally ignored his approach. OUCH.

Maybe she’ll change her tune, now that he’s in the full Serbian national team and all, and playing regularly for Fiorentina. (Of course, she is ranked fourth in the world and gorgeous besides, so she probably doesn’t need to settle for lovesick midfielders.)

  A few days after I told you about Zdravko’s unfortunate crush on miss Ivanovic, Stevan Jovetic gave a 18th birthday interview. And guess what he wished for in it.

  C’mon, guess.

  Poor girl. Why can’t she attract attention from the likes of Dragutinovic? Or Vlada Avramov. She’s beautiful.

  Pasha, seriously?! What the hell? I think I told you a friend of my came back from a trip to Serbian amazed by how gorgeous the men and women were — surely there are other famous ladies these people could be harassing?
