WAG of the Week: Michelle Hunziker

Ok, this one’s a bit of a reach, but stay with me for a minute. Michelle Hunziker has never dated a footballer, as far as I know. Nor does she play football. She was, however, once married to Eros Ramazzotti, and since he’s among the best (and definitely the most enthusiastic) of the celebrities who turn up to play in charity matches, I’ve decided to declare him an honorary footballer. Plus, he’s apparently one of Figo’s neighbors, which should somehow count in his favor, as well.
Ms. Huntiker started her life wanting to be an interpreter, but got distracted when she moved to Milan as a teenager and started to model, instead. She struggled at first because — get this — she was considered “too heavy and too short,” but managed to get a ton of print gigs anyway, a delightful flipping of the the bird to The (Fashion) Man.
Once she got engaged to Ramazzotti, Model Michelle was suddenly discovered to have acting talent, as well (read: she was hot and could read a teleprompter), and got hosting gigs in both Germany and Italy (being born in Switerzland and that whole interpreter thing mean she speaks about 74 languages), an Italian “TV Oscar” for Best Newcomer of 2001, and a pile of film and stage roles. Then, last year, she released an album which, despite being in English, came out only in German-speaking countries. Yes, that probably means it’s crap, but you can hear for yourself at her terrifyingly perky website. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

she does have a relation to an actual footballer. When she co-hosted the annual Sanremo competition (singing competition) last year, Antonio Cassano sent her like 100 roses.

Nice, Francesco! I remember reading about that when it happened but didn’t register that it was her. (If I understood the article correctly, she rejected him despite the roses and the ridiculously sweet card. Yes?)

That pic of Mrs. DDR leaves much to be desired. Also, Mrs. Oddo can keep her ovaries as far as I’m concerned. I see the WAG standards on the baby blue side of town are on par with their team: mediocre at best. She also appears to have a debilitating fear of cameras. Oh, and Mrs. Zambro is never the same in any two pictures.

Wow, Perrotta’s is hot. Do you think they switched the labels on her and Mrs. Oddo, or something? Because that’s just not right. I’ll see if I can find anything of her, thanks — I’m scraping the bottom the barrel here.
