WAG of the Week: Raica Oliveira

Is there a better way to welcome Ronaldo to Italy than by naming his lovely (ex?) girlfriend our WAG of the Week? (That’s a rhetorical question, by the way — obviously, there is nothing that could possibly please him more.)

Raica Oliveira — whose first name, according to Wikipedia, is pronounce “HI-KA” (If that is the in fact that case, I’m thinking it’s terribly misspelled.) — is, as you might expect, a Brazilian model. She was discovered via an Elite Model contest when she was 17; though hot enough to win, she nevertheless has gone on to a rather impressive catwalk-and-print-and-footballer-dating career. Despite appearing in roughly four billion fashion magazines, she recently assured the world that she’d never pose nude. And when I say “assured” I mean “monumentally disappointed.” (And it turns out that she wasn’t lying — this is the first WAG quest I’ve done so far that hasn’t been nipple-laden.)

Also: I’m on a plane this morning so posting will be minimal at best. Please distract yourselves from the lack of scintilating news and commentary by staring at Miss Raica.

  She could spell her name any way she wants. Distraction in progress. Feel free to take as much time as you need on your flight. Perhaps have them circle the airport a few times before landing, or tell them you forgot something and the plane must take you back!

  while she is a nice selection for WAG of the Week, I think the honor really should have gone to Veronica Lario, wife of Silvio Berlusconi.

  Mrs. Berlusconi demanded a public appology via newspaper for her husbands flirting ways, to which I say…well played…and that is exactly what she got. It’s nice to see grovelling from such a rich and powerful guy. This story made front page news in Canada (see the Globe & Mail).

  I saw that story earlier this week, Ashley, but it didn’t occur to me to WAG her — excellent idea, I’ll keep it in mind (I’ll make sure to find a before pic, Muddia).
