WAG of the Week: Valentina Zambrotta
By: Martha | August 2nd, 2007
Certain people (whose names I won’t mention) have been going on and on about Valentina Zambrotta virtually since this feature debuted, so it was clearly time to give in. Actually, I’d have given in before, had I been able to find a good picture — this one comes courtesy of Bobo-loving reader/commenter Julie, who sent it during the naked-footballers “discussion” in the interests of equal opportunity ogling. Valentina’s not too much to my taste, but since we all know I get it spectacularly wrong with these ladies from time to time, I figured I should let you guys decide.
Anyway, Ms. Zambrotta, obviously, is married to Barcelona and Azzurri defender Gianluca Zambrotta (who, since he’s been away from Italy and pasta, has gotta so skinny his very fit wife must outweigh him by several pounds). But she’s no showgirl, this one: She’s an athlete in her own right. As you can see from this very glamorous photo, she’s a downhill inline skater, which apparently is a real sport. Smewhere.
She also seems to be a fairly smart, funny woman, which I daresay is a bit rare in the World of the WAG. Unfortunately for her, though, Valentina is known less for her wit than for her rather massive boobs (which Roma Chris insists are real). Which I suppose was sort of inevitable, since she’s married to a footballer and spends a lot of time at the beach and all — the paparazzi are always lurking right around the corner.

I hate to sound like I’m not shallow, but she doesn’t have that great of a face. A pair of beach balls make up for that, though.

Great comment, Gianni — I’m so proud to write for a blog on whcih people have to apologize for not being shallow enough.

btw what does WAG stand for?

Gianni, WAG = Weiner Always Grande (When looking at these ladies). Sorry, the juvenile desire to use the word wiener and some Spanish was just too tempting this early in the morning. It actually stands for Wives And Girlfriends.

Yes, it was me who provided the pic to promote the parity following the hilarious “discussion” of a couple of weeks ago. I’m now hoping for the favour to be returned by an equally charming picture of the boy Bobo (complete with long(er) hair. I hate the crew-cut he’s adopted at the moment. See – I can once again turn WAG of the week to a Bobo comment :-) ).

Martha, I know this has nothing to do with Calcio, but Rafeal van de Vaarts wife Sophie would be a good WAG. im sure your many eager young male readers would enjoy her beauty.

Corey are you sure Van der Vaart’s wife isn’t named Sylvia? I know there’s a Sylvia Van der Vaart who’s smoking hot.
Thanks Greg, I almost believed the first thing you said. I was a little confused…Posted from

Oh man, those halter bikini pictures are wince-worthy. Neck pain much?
She seems pretty awesome, actually. I once read an interview with Zambrotta where he said he wanted 5 kids, and having settled in Spain him and the wife were going to get started on their…er…quest for a big family.
